Making a parallax background for a platformer. This area is while the character is ascending the foreground trees (not pictured) so most of the vegetation is dead here before you reach the canopy. Anything I can do to make it look better? Do I need one more layer? There are currently 5 layers of trees. ![]() |

Unless these trees are meant to fit in with blocky foreground trees, I think more natural-looking branches (growing more upward, some longer ones, spaced less evenly, etc) would help the most. The 4th layer of trees looks very strange, the details seem too large for the trunks. The back layers also don't seem to have branches. |

The foreground trees will be very blocky as well. I'll go in and fix the back two layers though using your suggestions!
Also, although I would like to do tapers, these have to be vertically tileable so I don't think I can. Thanks for the advice! |
