   CHALLENGE: It's a me, Luigi
Inspired by the recent Nintendo leaks which showed prototype character models for Luigi in games such as Super Mario 64, this week we challenge you to redesign a Luigi sprite!
What would Mario's favorite brother look like if you were in charge? We recommend he remains green and tall, but other than that you can draw him however you like!
Canvas Size - 64x64 max

Colors - max. 8 colors. Transparency is a color too!

Animation - Optional.

Transparency - Required, no background!
CHALLENGE RULES
Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
Only new pixels allowed.
Open to all members.
Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.
CHALLENGE JUDGING
Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES
Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
No matter what happens you get challenged :)

	So just to be clear, are we taking an existing style that featured Luigi and remaking it into a brand new sprite, or just making a new Luigi sprite? Trying to fully understand what you mean by "redesign a Luigi sprite".

	You are welcome to be inspired by an existing style/sprite, as long as you don't actually use an existing sprite as a base. It has to be 100% original work. Other than that, you can do whatever you like. Design, redesign, stick close to the original but with a twist or do something completely different!

	I think it looks great already! I don't have a specific pointer, but to me there are a few things that look odd and could perhaps be redone: The shoes, the shading on the tail, the shading on the moustache. I certainly do love the pose, the shading on his dungarees and his hidden face! Very good start!

	This is my daughter's first attempt at some pixel art (she's 9). It's Cool Luigi: She'd like some advice on how to make Cool Luigi even more cool :-)

To make him even cooler, maybe add some shadow or an outline so we can see where his nose is. And maybe move his sunglasses further down so they're not on the top of his head. Or give him dragon wings. Whichever is cooler.

	Cool, though I think the challenge is asking for a sprite. Yours is more like a portrait.
