The "Love Machine" challenge winner FrankieSmileShow picked this week's challenge.  Create a pixel piece with a tower being struck by lightning.

what i've got so far...  it will be only 2 colors when i'm done

and my progress as i go...

if jalonso doesnt participate, i will report him and get his social security checks taken away

im very unhappy with the lightning though, that will require a revision or too

Here's what I've got so far. They grey is meant to be temporary but I think I'm getting used to it, we'll see.

I'm not quite sure about the lighting on the tower, looks a bit wrong perhaps. Neither am I sure what'll happen in the background, some landscape maybe.

 

Anyway, any suggestions?

 

my math teacher is a big as a building? can she get struck by lightning?

Here's a rough sketch, what I'm thinking about. Maybe I should try a bit smaller, because I'm pretty sure I won't finish this in time.

ugh. Im going to have to agree with jalonso. That is a "killer" idea :(

My 1st entry on a challenge

Definitely better with the new texture. I would try to make the lighting coming down from the right of the cloud (starting in that dark area). Or make the distance between the tower and the cloud larger, but I think you're sick of dithering by now :).

Only that the lightning should be more zigzag-esque, not so straight

I kind of like the generic-ness

My first draft of a thunderstrucked tower, idéa from the swedish child story Ronja Rövardotter.

Haha, that looks great! I would shoot for a more interesting palette though, not just simple brightness shifting..
