CHALLENGE: Parallel Worlds

From challenge winner ilkke comes this week's challenge:
Create a pixel where you show parallel worlds. You may break the canvas into halves to show both sides but creative use of the blend between the 2 worlds is a plus.

Rules:

• Canvas Size: 320x240
• Color Restrictions: 32 colors and MUST use at least one pink and one green.
• Transparency: allowed
• Animation: allowed

• Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
• Only new pixels allowed.
• Open to all members.
• Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.

About as basic as you can go... completion wise...right after I was done sketching I realized the mansion is crooked..anyways steal my idea and I will eat your soul/ your baby's soul.

Wow i want to have a go at this i never have a ago at the challenges but oh well it probaly wont win but who know damn my text is going dodgy.

@Malor: Your other idea didn't suck, just needed tweaking. eg. like the rear-entrace to the mansion looked like a delapidated shed. Or even size reversals.

Oh, I've seen those, I'm still undecided if it actually looks any good tho... but that wouldn't be a reason to not have the challenge... Anyway, I don't think we really have to worry about that

Paint Shop Pro 5 does colour counting straight out of the box! PSP5 rules!!!!!!!!!!

File -> Save for web... In the window that opens, make sure the image format is a palette-based one (GIF or PNG-8) and the maximum allowed amount of colours is 256. Below the colour table there should be a number that shows you how many colours there are in the image (unless there are more than 256, but I doubt that's the case).

That's how I do it, at least. Haven't found any other way to do it.

another way is to temporarily (don't hit save here) go to image mode and make 'indexed' then under the same menu click 'color table'. Pie's way (mine too) is far better ;)

BTW, is checking the box "submit to challenge" is enough to take part into a challenge?

Sorry for stupid question, but can I use some program for automatic dithering, or must dither my picture manually pixel-by-pixel?

I'm not qualified to advise, but I will point out that Helm uses automatic dithering tools.

It's coming along nicely, but I think your tree should be a bit more modest and flash a little less bark.

The first thing that came to my mind was MMBN when I saw this challenge...

10-15 minute doodle idea sort of thing. Don't know if it really qualifies for the compo? It was influenced by the rules, anyways.

This looks really cool. i don't know if i'll enter..i was thinking something like a very skinny woman looking into a mirro and seeing herself as fat, as if the mirror is a parrelel world. (ok..spelling=:{) ...buuuut i don't think that was what this contest was going for so i'm thinking. xP

Thinking of Having a horse changing into a Unicorn :S. Am still a n00b at pixeling so it will probs look like crap. I guess thats the reason for posting my crap on here, so i can learn new things etc.
