Just pixel a scene where the character is like "oh my god!", or just a scene that the title could be "oh my god!", but replaced with "Egads!"; but the word itself may or may not be on the final art

Hi there!
This is my first post in this forum so please forgive my bad english.
I'm going to take part to the weekly challenge but I've never drawn a non-isometric pixel scene before, so If you could give me some tips I'll be grateful. This is the "egads!" sketch: cthulhu awakening... I couldn't find a better "egads" situation! : S

My idea was to have a drive-up window and the woman's "bazooombas" made you say "EGADS!".. don't know how it's going.
I am having trouble with
-facial features
-shading skin
-her arms

all c&c will be helpful.  Thanks guys.

Mis-BUG- Your drawing is freakin' cool!!  Can't wait to see how you use the palette, I would need 101 colors for that one.

If these areas give you trouble consider (while you can) redrawing it all like half size of what it is now.

This palette calls for bold moves. Use colors together you would naturally never do and leave the neutralizers for the blends. This palette is one of the funest to play with.

yay but it's not easy to make that bold move... but i just don't wanna quit on that one.
i just gotta abandon that "usual" shading appeal... guess that's why this is giving me such a hard time...
not that easy for something like a first timer...

damn... gotta get brave on this one ;-)

the right ones are CGA, right? i found those on the left in the search engine here but... damn... i got a problem "feeling" those color combinations in an image even though they really fit... guess that's what you meant with going bold... damnit - learning is a bitch :D

Using neutralizers is the key to palettes like these. All those are EGA colors. Notice that what makes two colors work is the netralizer between them. Neutralizers are a key ingredient in ALL pixelart. A neutralizer is commonly a 'grey' but often many other colors can be too.
2nd row 6th position for example has green as a neutralizer. Who woulda thunk it o.O

Well, hello, this is my WIP so far and looking at it right now i feel that the outlines here do not look as good as in my editor...
Ok, if it's hard to read what's happening, they're monsters. Something like micro giant fighting monsters that someone's gonna see through a magnifying glass and shout "Egads!"... maybe. Or on tv, i don't know yet... any comments? Am i going in the right direction here? Thx!

Setzer has my vote :)
It's becoming clear now what the challenge is about.

Can someone explain what Jalonso means with neutralizers and how it works. I just started this whole pixel business :)

Setz knows better, we can't allow that in the gallery and when the first parental report comes in will be removed from here too. Anyhoo, its totally funny and I downloaded a copy to my HD ;)

@DeathodaDay, a neutralizer in pixelart refers to a single color whose sole purpose in the art is to make other colors blend so that you don't have to add a bunch of colors. Greys are normally chosen but it can be just about any other color too.

Row 2 position 1- uses green as a netralizer between the ywllow and the orange
Row 3 Position 2 - uses blue as a netralizer.

Read the interview with adarias in the gallery for more nerditude.

1.  Get a photbucket account
2.  Upload your WIP (work in progress)
3.  Photobucket assigns pictures several codes once uploaded... copy & paste the IMG code into a message on Pixel Joint Forum
4.  People will help you with comments

 good luck..

This is my WIP. Please tell me if you like it or not XD. It took my a while, because I accidentally saved it as a jpg, and had to start again :(
I need still to continue shading, fill in the hand etc... but it's getting there :)

Wow. That wins pretty hard. I thought of something exactly like that... But I couldnt pull it off, because these colors are pretty hard (for me) to work with.
Great job so far.

I know, something went wrong i guess.
The palette was in a different document, this one was CMYK. After critics and comments i'll redo the colours, although the idea behind isn't very solid :)

I just wanna make something :p

Major problem - My WIP is going reasonably well - still a lot of work to do but I have 17 colours- I thought I had only used the 16 of the challenge - its probably a rogue pixel or two from my prep sketch, but I cannot find it - any ideas?

Also - any cc
