   CHALLENGE: That's So Last Decade
It's been a decade since the panic over the millenium bug. So to commemorate you are challenged to depict an alternate January 1 2000 where the world has been drastically affected by Y2K.

For example, you could show hundreds of planes falling out of the sky or  scene where a group of killer microwaves are chasing after humans on the stroke of midnight. Be creative. Be afraid.

Canvas Size - Max 200 x 200.

Colours - Max 20.

Transparency - Optional.

Animation - Optional.
CHALLENGE RULES
Participants have until this upcoming Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) to submit their entry (strict). Don't forget to check the 'Submit to weekly challenge' checkbox.
Only new pixels allowed.
Open to all members.
Posting WIPs in this thread or in new threads in the WIP section is highly encouraged, but ONLY SUBMIT YOUR FINAL ART.
CHALLENGE JUDGING
Every Sunday at midnight (12AM Pacific) the previous week's entries are judged.
Every week a new voting poll will be posted for previous week's entries.
Winner announced the following week.

CHALLENGE PRIZES/GOODIES
Top three finishers will receive an award displayed in your PJ gallery profile for all to see and envy.
Top finisher gets to call the following week's challenge...sweet.
'Participation' ribbons will be given for all who enter.
No matter what happens you get challenged :)

	Ahem... There happens to be a secret war base in the moon, and the computers bug and start attack on the earth, very original, I know. I need to improve the details on the earth, but I've no idea what I should do to it... Currently at 12 colors.

	I forgot I was supposed to post it here :P Well, here's my first WIP of the challenge, "That was so last decade..." It's called "Last Stand of the Whitehouse." There is going to be an exploding helicopter on the top right hand corner, but Im not quite sure how to draw it. Any ideas? Edited by Atora - 22 December 2009 at 4:21pm

	Good idea, pixels might still improve. There is not much shading / contrast on the house; also the explosion doesn't really look like one (need some red/yellow/white highlights). Btw, where's that helicopter? Some falling bits would help I think. Keep at it, plenty o'time still! ;)

	Bit of a strange one from me. Here's my work-in-progresses so far. Then started dithering a background (GraphicsGale), but probably will try to replace with some advice. I have no idea what to do with this anymore...

	Aye, iPods were 2001... maybe the robots... built them early... ;-; What about the 'iKill', then? iMacs were around in 2000 as far as I know.

	Other MP3 players were around before 2000. Also, walkmans/discmans as Jeremy was saying. Yep, iMacs were around back then too, the ones with the huge coloured monitors D:

	01/01/00, people wake up to a brisk chill and a world of no electricity. Power grids around the world have collapsed, bringing virtually everything to a grinding halt... including security. Well, I might not finish. Working on a small netbook with a small laptop mouse has proven itself not to be one of my best laid plans.
