Now I just now got the whole idea in this piece. After midnight, the year reset from 2000 to 1900, therefore the scene change from 2000 to 1900 style.
Oh, I see it now. But didn't realize it back then. It is somewhat difficult to read because bottle only partially visible.
I thought it was a strange white crack someway related to Y2K problem %)
Thanks!
A bottle of champaigne, or what you thought?
Oh, I missed this gem =)
I like style and small details.
But... what was in her hands and why that white line and spots has appeared? O_o
Manupix I added intro and outro. I think by now most of voting already occured, so it will not spoil the results.
I love it!
But, not really the white screen. It's a bit confusing to have it in the middle of the story, and nothing at the end/beginning.
but if they change their policey on transparency then sorry for white background no-one will get it. plus its like in movies where they make jokes where it is a movie hard to explain but i think that it is not a good gag.
also when she is in the past could you make her blink like "what just happened" i think guybrush does it in MI2 at the start with largo maybe reference that. also how about three or so seperately drawn frames for the champagne shooting out from the bottle?
anywya the changing time thing is a brilliant gag.
sharprm Thanks for a comment! I think that current speed (2 fps) is adequate (except maybe champaigne foam, but that way second scene is revealed in parts which gives some comical effect too) - talking, shaking hand, and that guy in phones bobbing head up and down must be exactly once a second if he listens to dance tunes with standard 120 bpm tempo; and flashing ":" on electronic clock should flash just once a second.
But maybe adding repeated frames is still necessary.
It is not the timeless piece - without this time of year and PixelJoint challenge it would not appear, so there's no need to mask anything.
i like it but 'sorry for white background' gets in the way of it being a timeless piece. you should also do something about speed of frames. maybe more frames repeated but faster.
Doubled the speed of frames that been too slow. I searched for balance when you can understand what's on first picture to be then transited to second scene and understand it too from the first watching.
When have you saw it for the first time?
