guys, i was ...researching plant pictures... and i stumbled upon this strange plant: the fleeceflower. Just google it, and go to images. Nature must be f*cking with us or something, because that's some weird sh*t. Their roots happen to look like people.

Fairly certain that it's a hoax.

but what if it was real...

does this need to be based on a whole plant? could this be like a part, a root, piece of bark, or a fruit or a flower? are mushrooms considered plants? could this be made of parts of different plants?

Specific parts of a plant is fine.
Mushrooms aren't plants.
Try to at least focus on a single plant.

Even if a mushroom ISN'T a plant, can we still use them, as well as other forms of fungus?

Meh, Mushrooms are plant-like enough. Just like whales would be good enough to be accepted in a fish challenge.

Also, while I wouldn't be as quick to judge the fleeceflower to be a hoax due to the law of large numbers, knobbly nature of roots, and human tendency to see pareidolia, there posisble are SOME roots out there that look like people. And don't forget that humans have engineered cubical watermelons, buddha-shaped pears, and bananas that can't even procreate...

BUT. Making something looking humanoid would seem to be against the spirit of the challenge.

Whales are fish in exactly the same way as some dude taking a bath is.

As i said, snader, I was just doing some research on plants and came across the fleeceflower. I wasn't going to do anything on it, i just thought people would like to see such a thing.

Also, can we do wierd, alien-looking plants?

As long as it's a real plant.

and

so it looks like a real plant have been manipulated by people.

Not really. Is like compare the species of Cyano bacteria to Ebola. Or a light bulb to a chair.

Limes: Can I use citric acid cycle to challenge? The plants does every night.

mfw people are debating about what a plant is and not arting ;P

I hope it doesn't look too vague compared too the plant I'm basing it off of.

I've got me some seaweed. Pelvetia Canaliculata to be exact.

Not sure if lighting highlights will help the animation motion any...

Edit: Never mind, It was accepted!

Sorry if I am worrying about nothing, but I uploaded my entry a few days ago and it's still awaiting approval. Pretty sure I remembered to hit the weekly challenge checkbox. Should I be worried at the possibility of it not being accepted into the gallery in time?
