I've been drawing since I can remember. Growing up with the Amiga computer and the boom of late 8bit and right through the 16bit era of gaming I've always had a strong connection to pixel graphics. When I was 20 or 21 all my physical art supplies were stolen along with a large portion of my work. (The fool smashed in my car and grabbed the art bag with nothing of resale value.) Crushed, I essentially gave it all up right then and there. Fast forward and I started picking modern 3D with Blender when I still thought I wanted to continue working in the games and software industry when I was 34. Back exclusively to pixel pushing in my 40's with two young kids showing interest in art. I have a renewed drive to complete some game ideas I have been kicking around for a long time and the explosion of new hardware in the retrocomputing scene means I can still use my favorite computer with the convenience of modern storage and stupidly fast accelerators. I like working with the restricted palette and low resolution of the original Amiga chipset, and my user name is play on the Amiga's 64 color "extra half-bright" mode where all of the 32 normal colors get a bit shifted "half" as bright copy to use. Between 32 color registers and 4 bits per color channel (12bit color) it makes for some interesting palette work. As for my creations, I mostly am working on tile maps for a couple games, developing dithering skills, animation for players and other characters, etc. Occasionally I will do a full screen image for a contest or on a whim. Sometimes I dip into the naughtier NSFW end of the spectrum. I will also occasionally do some religious iconography, though most of this stuff isn't what I would consider complete enough to share here.
