The values blend nicely and makes this piece look very natural.

Awesome style man!

Thanks mate! I'm always really happy when you like my stuff!

The paper drawing feeling was what I was aiming for. I'm glad it works. And yea, I kept your border idea, it's very valorizing for this piece. Thanks for this great suggestion! :)

As for twitter, I don't know... I've always been reluctant to social networks and websites for my works. PJ is one of the only place someone can see a part of my works... I guess I'm a bit old school on that point.

Thanks Pix.Ed.! I really appreciate your comment!

I guess it's not "traditionnal pixel art" enough, that's certainly why... :P

I used some brushes first to make the rought drawing and the dirty charcoal texture(and bit of randomness) and then I detailed and made AA with the 1px pencil.

A shame I missed this, it's incredible! Looks like it was drawn with pencil; such an amazingly believable texture. You even tried the border thing I suggested, you rock man!

Your work deserves a lot more attention. You may even want to consider starting a twitter account.

Why aren't people commenting the hell out of this? The charcoal like texture is intricate and smooth. I am impressed. Great job.

Did you pixel this by hand or using brushes?
