I tihnk the color issue could be fixed by switching a warm or neutral blue for the cool teal. All-in-all i like the character and the shading and everything, but i do agree that he becomes somewhat subdued. Maybe also change out the royal blue eyes for the rust-colors to make them appear more aggressive?
I usually don't like to disagree with whomever commented before me but, I think the palette IS the only problem. Your character looks determined, aggressive and strong, but your colors say something else. Perhaps its just the saturation, but I rather suspect its the hues. I love everything else about this.
