Updated again, still following Opacus's advice. There's less blue in the foreground so the characters stand out a little more. Definitely a big improvement, removing all this excess blue.
@SnowOwl
I'm not, but with these rocks, these characters and that blue color, I guess I couldn't avoid the Nordic feel :)
Are you perchance Nordic? Reminds me of something from the movie Trollhunter.
This is awesome! I love it! This face and those textures with so few colors are amazing! Keep up the great work.
God, this takes me back. Nostalgia on so many levels! Great job!
Thanks to you all )
@Mandrill
Seems like a lot of good stuff in there!
@Opacus
I thank you for this valuable input, and will probably make a few adjustments with this in mind.
edit : Done! Now with 0.6% less blue! That's not much but it shows. Of course I got carried away and tweaked other things... I feel like my eyes are trying to escape from their sockets, now. They wont get that far...
Really nice piece. And impressively done with only the 3 colours.
I think it would do the piece a lot of good to use the light blue more sparingly though. Right now it feels like there's a lot going on and the composition gets kinda confused. For example: I only noticed the gnome after I read the description. If you use the blue sparingly, it'll be easier to create focus points in the composition, drawing the eyes towards the important elements.
Limited palette images are always impressive to me for some reason, but this one has something extra about it. The rock textures are extremly successful.
