Lots of stuff to appreciate in this piece. Thanks for sharing.
I love the icons, main tree, hanging woman, health/mp bar, ground rock and moon.
The gui adornments are too flat in comparison to the good parts that they look unfinished, also the character portrait feels crude.
The main character's outline doesnt work for me, it is too harsh. The background trees have a weird perspective and look too flat also. The cloud has a nice design but feels out of place with the rest. The ground rocks are good as I mentioned but could use a little more depth. The bottom level grass on the other hand is too sparse and contrasting and could use a little toning down with darker blades mixed in.
It is like you have two pieces one is great and the other is not quite there yet and could still use some work. One detracts from the other. If you bring the lacking parts to the level of the good parts you could have an amazing piece.
The 2 brightest greens are so close to be indistinguishable. They are too saturated, and also clash with the other more bluish greens. Finally, both these dark greens have the same hue.
See some palette-building tips here.
The background trees perspective is wrong, makes it look like they grow on a wall or steep slope.
The main tree is pretty good, also the upper-left corner.
I'd suggest practicing on much smaller pieces though. Controlling >250k pixels is tough!
Also welcome on PJ =)
The GUI is amazing and I really like the tree with the hanging person.
I think the outline of tree's tops could be less of a constant thin line, and could be wider in some spots and missing in other - could of been done with clusters too.
Those palettes are different (both displayed on one page), not much but enough to alter their appearance and balance. The original (wiki) still mostly has the same issues I posted though.
