I'd suggest to work on smaller pieces (100x100) to improve your pixel placement techniques, which look a bit rough at the moment. The point of pixel art is the precise control of each single pixel, and this is easier when there are 10,000 of them (or less) than 40,000!
About half these 77 colors are used in 4 pixels or less: not that limited, in fact. Do they all originate from the palette you picked, or do you make them on the go? Anyway, this one important area where to exercise that pixel control.
