Your style seems really insteresting, but I could say you two things: Use some Anti-Aliasing, this is really important because you're doing weird forms make the form of any beast you want, this will remove jaggedness and add smoothness to the pixel art, and you can actually keep the pallete as the same color count you Usually use, Just use that dark color from the other legs to do It, and if you want you can add color to add anti-aliasing to these ones, nothing more to say, I like your style a lot
