well this is a vastly different take than im used to on this topic xD you nailed the execution. subtle color blending/rendering/shaarpness achieved is all high quality
I reckon my face detection is going a bit overboard again, but the shadow of the lowest string of meat totally looks like a skull, 2 eyes, nose hole, upper teeth and lower teeth. Fitting byproduct of your dither approach here. :D
Yes - they were background elements in a videogame, therefore they needed to be knocked back a bit, they weren't collidable.

I think it would benefit from more contrast in form of stronger darks. Was there some restriction or artistic decision based on something that isn't displayed in this piece to not have them or your personal preference?
