Brilliant work on the shading, and the hair is just wonderful. And you can like the boots - they look great indeed.

I'm not a fan of very speccy pixel art, though I agree I could probably do with a little less colors. I'm definitely not going to reduce her to 16 colors, that would destroy the piece. ^_^'

@jalonso:  color conservation is a good practice because it reduces filesize and allows for working under palette restrictions, but pixelart in general has little or nothing to do with color conservation.  Its like how a person is 'supposed' to use only 4 colors of paint (RYBW) and mix, because that is less expensive, but the fact is that computers have millions of colors, and theres no reason not to use lots of them to achieve a particular style and smoothness.

As it stands, i still think this is a great piece aside from the confused lighting

Too many colors indeed. A big part of pixelart is using as few colors as poss to get the desired look/effect.

I do think that there are quite a few too many colors, you coul cut it down to 32 without anyone even noticing, and i tihnk you could manage 16 if you tried a bit.  You may not want to though, thats a question of style unless there are mechanical limitations.  I like the dress and the boots, but i think the shading that i love so much on them is not echoed in the skin? i know its a doll, but conflicting light sources confuse the eye, plus the one on the outfit looks a lot nicer than the flat lightingon the skin.  anyhoo, i like this.  keep up the good work

I saw that there was no base credit and was like "bah! another person not creditting!" ... then I looked at your name and realized she was all yours. heh!

I actually think the skin on many [if not all] of your pieces would look BETTER with fewer colors...I feel like the skin is so...low contrast...because you fill all the colors in between...that they don't really match with the clothes you put on. maybe a darkening of the outline would help, too.

The lines in the clothes are great, but i don't think her boots fit in the whole piece.
