yup, its fine, just remember to give credit in the future.  I think you oversaturated the piece though.  try toning down the saturation and it will look alot better.  -also when you shade it, dont just put darker colours where the outlines are.  Try thinking of it as many peices of forms clumped together.  Like part of the head may be a sphere, and the arms might be cylinders. then shade accordingly.

The similarities ar practically the same. Although it doesn't look like you directly ripped them yourself, you could still have tried to go with a more different dynamic view. But please, in the near future, DO NOT COPY OTHER PEOPLE'S WORK. It would be of better and sound mind, to just try and create something yourself, you matter how bad or horrible you think it is, instead of working on others work. Either that, or please give credit to the person, whom you are editing, copying, or in some way, shape or form using his work.

there are enough shades to make something off it..
tho that isnt really the problem, the biggest problem is that you "overcolored" as in oversaturated as in .. the colors are too bright.
tone it down and it would look pretty neat.
