A present for a teacher that was getting destined elsewhere.
I know the dithering is overboard, but it WAS an experiment in dithering.
The whole image is dithered at 50%. The two 50% counter-patterns are stored in separate layers.
One of the 50% patterns is for lighting and has a single ramp for the whole image (golden in color)
The counter-pattern is for surface color and uses several ramps (most of them 3 colors each)
Transitions are achieved by dithering within each 50% independently in each layer.
That's the theory at least, there are exceptions and parts of the image handled somewhat differently, but those are the principles it's built upon.
It looks weird, I know, but making it was great for improving my knowledge on dithering.
