this is my first piece of pixel art in a looong time. i used the basic game boy palette because i read somewhere that it's easier than working with many colors(obviously).
please note that i've only done 2 or 3 more pieces in my life so i'm more than a newbie. critique is appreciated :^) | 
Welcome back to the pixel world (: I've recently started pixeling after a long time too, i know how you feel.
I think this is a really good piece. I think the hat could a little bit different, more like an actual cowboy hat, and the face could have a little bit more details (more shadding to the nose and eye, maybe). Other than that i think it's great.
