This is inspired by a Japanese comic called "The Enigma of Amigara Fault" by Junji Ito. You can read the comic here. (It's really creepy - there is an earthquake on a mountain, and suddenly a fault appears with human-shaped holes - go read it!) I adapted a panel on page 187 and incorporated my own stylistic decisions as well.
