@BertMi

Thanks for dropping by :) I am very much invested in tutorials, wherever and whenever I can. Although so far have limited myself to youtube. I will look into the texturing tutorials you have mentioned, thanks for the feedback!

@Eishiya

I am quickly learning that I need to reduce my color palette, the more I progress with pixel art. Similar struggle with what I am having on the weekly challenge. I am uncertain what dimensions I should be working on, so am trying different things until I find something to works for me, although some of the stuff I must admit, seem too sloppy still.

Are those green parts some kind of crystal or metal? I can't really tell what they are just by looking at it, but if I would make a design like that I would make those crystal or metal. Either way, you should take a look at some tutorials on how to create textures for those materials, because the way you did it had no texture. It kind of looks like nothing, you understand?

Beside that, I really like the design you created (:

This piece uses 18 colours, but looks like it should need no more than 10, including the transparency. A few of your colours are redundant. Try to merge similar colours.

Some of your lines/edges are jagged. Try to avoid building edges out of segments of random lengths, try to always have them increasing or decreasing, that gives a less jagged look. Even when going for a jagged character design, good artists will often avoid actual jagged lines.
