 It IS true that we as humans are attracted to mystery... Those forehead symbols really look nice...
The only complain I have is that you could've used a darker color on the pole itself to make it look sculpted too.

Amazing I really love pixel art like this. 

Hard to explain what I mean... it's just the mysterious feel of it.
