Great work on the armor! The shading really evokes the material and the lighting is interesting. By comparison, the cloth folds seem invented. The shapes repeat on the top sprites and the lower left sprite's cape suggests a mountain of earth more than it does fabric.
The blue stroke on the lower right sprite could be improved with a more creative shape, like the one around the lower middle sprite. It appears more magical that way, and less like a graphic design element.
For sprites this size, my eyes crave a little more detail. The top left sprite works the best in this regard; the sword hilt, cloak brooches, and eyebrows provide areas of high-contrast that attract the viewer's eyes upward to the character's face. As a result, parts like his upper legs and cape don't require as much design.
I love the ominous feel all the sprites exude!
Characters in order:
- Marius, third son of the emperor, dubbed the war prince, human version
- Charon, ascended version, summons the souls of other characters the player has already defeated, *insert dank and dark backstory here*
- Lord Steelclad, Powerful spellcaster who has perfected metal manipulation, human version
- Lightning orb, discharges lightning bolts at intruders, animated by Lord Steelclad
- Steel Guardian, animated by Lord Steelclad
Metallic texture is looking really, really neat.
