After seeing this video of a lecture by Mark Ferrari, and since the theme for the weekly being Merpeople, I was inspired to finally finish up this piece.

The subject is of a Jiaoren a Chinese creature, shark-person or aquatic dragon-person, similar to the western mermaid. Their tears immediately turn to pearls and they are known for weaving beautiful fabric from sea silk.
