This is precisely the kind of entry that I was hoping for, haha! Love your idea for this, and love the execution too. He is really working it, with that pose! Reminds me of pinups, which I am pretty sure was your intention. There's loads of fun little details such as his (literal) sailor tattoos, his well groomed facial hair, the modest starfish to cover up with, the crab going for the tail fin, and the other sea creatures. I would maybe have made the tattoos a little lighter, as they contrast slightly too much against the skin in places (mainly thinking of the one on his left arm. I am also not sure if I can tell what the very dark tattoo on his right arm is. There are also a few inconsistencies in AA, but that's just little nitpicks. My favourite part of this might be his flawless hair! It is done so well, and I am maybe a little bit jealous of his luscious locks, haha. In general I think you used the palette very well in this, and I'm impressed that it looks so good even on such a big piece! Really nice way of using transparency to give it an organic shape as well. Great work!
I replied philippejugnet in Portuguese because we are both from Brazil. Don't worry guys, we are good.
And for those who replied him in my defense, I wasn't offended, but thank you anyway. Also, thank you for the compliments (:
Cya (:
BertMi, you sir have a healthy sense of humor.
philippejugnet... does not.
Don't care to his opinion, I see no problem on your art trying to seduce or something of the type, art is art independent of everything, it's not offending anyone, so just ignore it.
Fav
Vc é brasileiro também? :)
This might be rude and though but I want to be honest.
I liked the way you used the colors and the rendering on the jellyfishes.
I like to see how much time you spent doint it, but I think an honest comment and at least this critique helps more to improving your art then saying yo man nice stuff yoyo!
But I don't see how this piece talks to me. I'm honesly confused.
I see a effetimate man posing like a woman dressing an texturized tail of a mermaid sitting on a rock posing.
It looks like a photoshoot thats induced to seduce.
If thats what you wanted to achieve, ok you did it.
My oppinion and might be only me: I dont like art thats intended to seduce because I dont understand it.
Everyday I finish a piece, I try to be more mature and have more deep story-telling in my next piece. I believe sex and sexual content are the most unrational part in man. I think its very supperficial. I like the techniques you used and the way you worked with colors, but I believe you could have done a better piece if you attempted to tell a story with your piece.
Dont get sad with my honest point of view, it might help you if you know what people think about what you do. Kudos on next pixels man. Cya!
Thank you <3
I makes me happy that this is what you were hopping to see hahaha! Thank you for all the compliments, also the critiques (:
