Haha awesome. Yeah, a lot of nude fencing on the old manuals, for some reason
Looking forward to this game!
Franuka, thanks :) I tried to diversify classical Prince of Persia's fencing system, so i made a study of fencing types and so on, and found one old print with the image of duel between some nude guy vs totally dressed man. I thought about reasons of his nudity and that it can be a good start of his story )
Wow, this is absolutely brilliant. The poses and techniques are so realistic, and the fluidity...I'm in love with it :)
You did a lot of research for this?
Theoden, here is something in between actual gameplay and just a cartoon
I made a prototipe in Unity, and used texture atlases of heroes for this animatic. I changed some sprites for some moves a little bit, but not too much. In prototipe's fighting sistem were realised most of this moves, excepting disarmament, dodges standing still and final part with tho weapons in hands.
There were attack-block system with a little differences in comparison with the PoP, jumps back and forward by double taping arrow key, attack in jumping, jumping from the wall and grappling system (you gan grab your opponent and use him as a shield for a while or you can kick it on your opponents or werver you decide), and turning around system - you can turn around and move in any way immediately.
I tried to cross Prince of Persia's fencing system and old musketeer movies, then hero could fight against several opponents, puch them against each other, jumping on tables and so on. My programmer's skills are pretty low and it was very buggy, but fun prototipe )
This is quite impressive. Looks like Prince of Persia 2 on steroids. But I think you will have trouble in implementing some of the moves displayed here.
eishiya, we should, but for small pixel character it looked like some sticking from his body foreign object, so i decided not to demonstrate it excepting necessary situations. blood animation is nominal, my fault)
kudos
