These are my Sony speakers. In this piece, I've tried to capture a sense of DoF, hence the blurred feeling on parts further away. Also, I've included some subtle reflections/radiosity etc. I know there are some things that are technically not correct, but what the heck; this is pixel-art, not draftsmanship!

You can look at how I made this from these WiP images:

the blur fx is just great!

It reminds me of demoscene graphics style without the overworking :) but also of older CPC graphics, which means it has an attractive simplicity of design and color.
And also reminds me that my technology is nearly up to doing pixel art in my preferred method (yes, I'm a technical snob. sort of. I just have difficulty seeing a potential technology and *not* implementing it.. and it kinda gets in the way of actually drawing stuff)

It's good to do a strictly correct image occasionally, like a raytracer.. though usually I favor more iconic works.

I personally love the focal blur, very original.

It's focul blur, not AA.

Better AA please.

Fantastic high-pixel art style, I love to see different styles and you certainly give us that. I dunno about the shade of blue in the frame and bkg with seems too saturated for the subject. The sig is waaaaaaaay too big,

Yes, they're battery-powered, portable speakers, 5 inches in height and 5.5 inches in length. In this piece, the two speakers are opened, but they flip back around, folding neatly into the middle, when closed. I took them to France with me last year; I don't know how I would've survived without them! :D

Those are speakers, wtf?

Cool effects... cool style. 2 things about the shadow: real shadows get more and more blurry the further away from the object you go. Usually I ignore this, but since you're doing blur effects in this you could consider using that on the shadow as well for realism. Secondly, the shadow looks as if the thing has no thickness; it's only the shadow of the front panel of the object.

Wow, this is good. Interesting perspective and the depth of field effect works nicely.
