Mega Man & Bass, also known as Rockman & Forte, was a videogame created for the Super Famicom and released solely in Japan. One of the last titles released for the system, the game's 1998 release date was roughly 2 years after the PlayStation/Sega Saturn release of Mega Man 8 and 3 years after the Super Nintendo's own Mega Man 7 - to say nothing of the original releases of Mega Man X3 and 4.
American and European players wouldn't see an official release of "Mega Man 8.5" until the GBA port was released overseas in 2003, so many fans may not have had the frame of reference of the original version - and it's 256*224 resolution - in mind. Thus the dilemma of a game with sprites and levels built with a CRT TV in mind, relocated directly to the 240*160 screen of a Game Boy Advance - large and beautiful graphics, cramped screen reducing spatial awareness and increasing headaches.
All this is what I had in mind as I put this mockup together for the GBAnniversary - a melting pot of the classic [Mega Man], the "mature" alternative [Mega Man X] the rereleased [GBA Bass], and the remixed [Mighty No. 9].
EDIT: Unrelated to the GBA challenge. Here's a link to the picture in 256*224 resolution.
