(For the weekly)

To be honest, there are not that many well-known German athletes. However, there is one that has always stood out to me.

Max Schmeling

A really humble and likeable guy who never had a bad word to say about his opponents. Even though the Nazis used him for their perfidious propaganda, he never supported their ideology, refused to join the NSDAP and even hid 2 jewish teenagers from the Gestapo.

I kept the piece in greyscale in order to pay a small tribute to the times when broadcasts were in black & white.

Yeah, that's what I love about it too. Every single pixels serves a purpose.

No worries, one the few German legends in sports imo.

This portrait has a great placement of details, the arrangement of big vs small clusters is very pleasing!

I always love to details in such a tight manner, it's where pixel art really shines.

Also to my shame I've to admit I didn't knew about Max Schmeling so thanks for correcting that!
