I agree with CritiqueMyWork, though for a different reason: the colours are very harsh and feel "neutral". JRPGs often use more limited palettes (in the non-pixel art sense). This has neutral, non-hue-shifted shadows and hues spanning the whole spectrum. This is a look I've seen more often in WRPGs than JRPGs.
They look more WRPG to me, like the ones you see featured in roguelikes. Maybe because of the $ sign, the cross and such are closer to the western.
pretty traditional but nice, the key with the face is cute lol
