The head appears to bounce independently of the run, and it also looks like it's just bounding instead of rotating the way horse's heads do. I think just not having the head move relative to the body would be a quick fix, or you could have the head move back and forth slightly instead of up and down. Check out this sequence of a gallop (large image). Note how the head comes forward and pitches down when the horse's legs spread out, and is pulled back and pitched up when the legs are together. If you wanted to go the extra mile, you could animate that pitching up/down too.
The mane blends in with the tail, making it look like there's no tail at all. I think it might look better to have the mane fly higher so that it doesn't overlap the tail in most frames. It would make for a clearer silhouette.
