The dragon's movements are incredible. The foreground cloud adds so much to the atmosphere of this. Amazing!
Can't say anything that haven't been said before, but it is an amazing artwork.
This animation is one of the best i've seen here, excellent !
Thanks Imagician!
I chose 12 because 8 was too jerky and 16 was too much work : )
I had to remove colors because Pixel Joint has a 2 meg limit on artwork (for some reason). I also had to crop the image horizontally quite a bit to get it to meet that restriction.
I rilly Love The Dragon the clouds Are also really nice
truly amazing I really love the dragon and I also really love the clouds Nice work
excellent ! think I saw this on FB before. couple of questions here:
- why did you choose 12 frames? i often hear people use 8 (or maybe 16 for this instance would be a fitting multiple)
- what's the reason you removed one of the bright purple shades compared to the version on FB?
I'm afraid I can't add anything that hasn't been said before... This looks fantastic! Love the smooth animation, the colors, the clouds - everything. I think I'll keep an eye on this game... looks like something I might enjoy. Thumbs up and good luck with the project!
Thank you derSteiner! The waving animation is inspired by Falcor from The Never Ending Story. And the 3D skeleton animation was done by Rob Borth. https://vimeo.com/156008421
Thanks Curth...that's something I loved about Falcor's movement. Being a child of the 80s, I had to put that in there.
Awesome motion ! The movement is super mooth and the anatomy feels really strong. I'm no surprised that you're using skeleton rig as base. It does the job.
I would have slightly offset the back wing to add more depth, but it's already super good.
That's pretty intense using skeletons as a base.
The background is pretty.
Thanks for this amazing piece of work man, my day just got a lot more awesome
This one is really smooth, both in animation and drawing. And this waving motion is fantastic!
Every once in a while there comes a piece that just makes you question your pixel skills....
Soo good.
The serpent-like motion is very captivating. There so much to like but thats just one thing I really wanted to point out.
Thank you! It's hand painted pixels over a 3D skeleton. That's how we're animating all the larger creatures in the game.
This is unbelievably awesome. One of the best fly cycles I've ever seen!
Well damn, that's beautiful! Is that a 3d model animation made into pixel art? Or is it pure pixel animation?
I saw this on twitter, good to see that you posted this on PJ also.
Exceptional work in all aspects.
What an amazing animation!
