oh, rip, i derped, i just realized i forgot to actually post the link in my last comment XD
Yeah I googled it and came across a very impressive page on everything pixel art here on Pixeljoint! It is awesome! Pillow shading on this pug works for me, it makes it more like a soft.. pillow! haha Banding is something I don't really understand yet, I make outlines just like you would in comics.
also, UltimoGames, here is a page on pixeljoint dedicated to all the things you should avoid in pixel art, banding and pillow shading should be on there

thanks Axolotine! Can you show me what you mean with banding and pillow shading? Never heard of that!
very good lines and dithering but my one advice is to look out for banding and pillow shading, they can strike when you least expect it
