I appreciate that Diogalesu, thanks a lot!
It's a style that I wanted to expirment with in this piece, and I also am quite happy with how it turned out. Still, there is merit in what the others are saying -- it could have been done better. Mainly, I think adding more contrast in the dark areas could have some benefit. Here's to next time!
Hey, thanks Spahiresurf! I'm really glad you like it ^^
For sure, the light sources are intense -- but that was intentional! It sounds like I didn't quite nail it, though. Next time! Interesting to hear that you think the darkest portion should not have an orange tint. The way that I mix my colours doesn't really lend itself to that unfortunately, so I'm going to have to experiment with that sort of thing in the future.
I really appreciate the thorough comment, by the way! Of course, you'll be seeing more of my in the future. I look forward to possibly seeing something by you as well :)
Thank you, I appreciate your feedback! Yeah, I agree -- I still need to work on my color some. I did intentionally want to keep this one dull with the important characters/objects emphasized like sprites to see how it turned out. Not bad, I think!
Woah I actually really like the pallete on this. I acttually really appreciate the intense lightsource as opposed to it being a total negative in regards to what has been said about it. It doesn't totally detract from the piece and my eye does keep moving around the composition.
Overall I think you did a good job, I'd love to see alot more from you in the future.
Oh my god I absolutely love this! Super cozy and a really unique color pallete between the interior and the really interesting snow pallete on the window. Regarding Joseph's comment I wanted to add (and I think this is probably more of just another way of describing what they're saying) is that the light source may just be a little intense. The orange way overpowers the dullness of the other areas when instead the light source could be more of a smol light that only really affects things in it's immediate vicinity. I think this would look beautiful with very outside border black instead of an orange-ish tint.
In other words I think you're color pallete is lovely and perfect for the piece, what I'm thinking moreso is the light source is a teensy overbearing, but it doesn't necessarily detract from the piece entirely and honestly, in a way, it does give it it's own mood. I think it just comes down to what you prefer ;P.
But seriously this doesn't take away from how awesome this is. It's super pretty and really cozy and I love it :3. Have it saved to one of my desktop slideshow thingies now because it's just cozed. Look forward to any future stuff you might do :3.
Really pretty! My only omplain is that the palette could use some more work -- too little contrast on the darker shades, while it has too MUCH contrast in the lighter shades (in comparison)
Otherwise a really cozy piece!
Very nice piece, colors are so soft for me, tho I understand its part of the design. Really nice piece.
She sat there in the dim light of the Electric oven. Great atsmophere.
Sweet colors, good work.
