Ha ha thanks, I actually did end up making that change a little while ago
Love that soft calm pallete!
And BTW, you should add some space to the fail counter, so there could fit 3 number! :)
That makes sense! Maybe uncluttered is the way to go.
Thanks! The game is on hold for now. As for the background, I need to keep it uncluttered due to the confusing nature of this game, lol.
What a lovely look! Did you ever finish the game? Perhaps consider adding some vague pipework in the background with your two most darkest colours to help break up the repetition.
You're absolutely right, the key does kinda break the style by being static. I will work on an animation for it, thank you for the feedback :)
In the meantime, I've updated and added a new HUD which you can now see if you hit refresh on the page!
This is gr8, but showing how a lot of things are moving in that mockup, it'd only fit if the key would also spin or something. Looks great either way though.
Thanks Mandrill :) Means a lot coming from a pixel artist at your level!
Yeah, I'm finding out that browsers are not ideal for displaying animations. It will be smoother in-game.
Yes, I've started out programming first, but I don't do it as a day job, just a hobby. I studied software engineering in school :) Why do you ask?
There we go, think I've fixed it! May need to refresh the page before you can see the change. Thanks for the advice Manupix!
I think you should do something to make it play faster, even at the sacrifice of the coin's matching the squid's animation. It just looks seriously lagging now. Without the animation problems, I like this image quite a lot.
Definitely, 20 ms should be safe. Also your anim software might have a 'preview in browser' feature, that's helpful in finetuning things without too much hassle.
Thanks :) Does jumping and breaking block count as telekinetic powers?
Frame delay is 60ms in the preview and 15ms in the main file. Had to do it this way to make animation timings match up between the coins and the octopus. Should I try slowing it down some to speed it up? (That statement contradicts itself in a weird way :P)
Tasty.
I imagine the octopus creature having some kind of psychic-kinetic powers.
It is very slow though.
It is very slow, tho the preview is fine. What frame delay are you using? Looks much longer than 0.1", which seems to rule out the usual explanation.
Unfortunately not yet, I'm still in the very early stages of development. I was just creating game assets and wanted to see what it could look like put toghether to help motivate myself.
Awesome man! Can we play this anywhere? I'm a gamedev myself. :)
Very nice palette and tiles.
