It looks nothing like Ico. Remember, Ico took place in a uniqe location. Going with the generic woodsland environment is the least interesting thing a game developer can do at this point tbh. Also, Ico wasn't about the combat, so making an ico-inspired game as an rpg feels as counterintiutive as it gets.
As for the piece itself, the trees are quite nice but what's up with the proportions? You need more black in there, make some grass patterns or something because it hurtful to have that much white. Also, one of the cool things about Ico's design was its verticality and scope. Removing a dimension and having a topdown perspective is challanging to achivie the same effect.
I honestly think this is ready enough for the gallery.
Really like it, but I feel the walls with the fence could have a bit more "oomph" to them, and the windmill too. Right now I feel the big trees overpower them.
This looks a lot like the "Final Fantasy Legend" series for the Gameboy. Everything looks recognizeable to me, but I wonder why the big tree in the upper right screen is lit from the ground and shadowed on its top? I like the 2nd and 4th big trees the best.
WIPs aren't allowed in the gallery; it's for finished work. WIPs go on the forum
Umm I think this is nice?
It's so hard working so small in mono, personally I think your doing really well.
Reminds me of old B&W macintosh games!
