Thanks for your cc,
Firstly, you're right that the rocket should go at the same speed as the aircraft, but there're just 4 frames until it ignites, so I've setted a very pushed animation for it, then it'll look very "animated", but I think I can figure for more tests or maybe a more smooth framerate.
About the rocket shape, it actually looks like more of a sticky rectangle with some reflections - in mockup terms, and I'm not saying that this will probably shall be a game, but I was thinking about getting missiles into a white outline to distinct them from the dark backgrounds and relateds, I think I've figured it's current shape as a final one.
Otherwise, I've sub pixelling animations for afterburner flame reflections, also steering frames, and a bit more of stuff lays in my "unreleased content gallery".
Thanks again for your comment.
This looks good! I love the rocket needing time to speed up, though I wonder if it's a bit much - the rocket would be moving at the same speed as the plane at first, with only air resistance to slow it down, and rockets have fairly aerodynamic shapes. If you have reference that says otherwise, or are just going for a cool look though, feel free to disregard me.
It's probably a tall order for a sprite so detailed, but I think it would look awesome if the plane tilted a little when steering to the sides. It would make the whole thing feel more alive and less like you're moving a sprite around.
It took me a while to notice the water was just a scrolling still image with no animation. Good job on that texture. Could even work in a finished game if there's enough stuff in front of it.
Thank you, Pixeljoint community brings knowledge to everyone in many ways. I think I'm very grateful with, so it's nice that I could help somehow.
Awesome. I'll use your piece as reference to improve the textures and shadow casting in my ships.
Pretty damn sexy.
