Thanks! I tried to write the character for forest consisting of two 'trees' whilst still keeping it in the 8x8 grid and making it readable as kanji.

It won't let me post the Japanese here though, oh well :/

The kanji looks like 木木 (tree tree) rather than 林 (forest).

But I'd say if that's my biggest complaint, then you did a good job! Everything reads very well, and the background mountains even have an ink painting feel to them. This is making me want to try my hand at something four-colour myself.
