This is a monster design I made for the game I've been working on, it's one of the first sprites that I made for the game...
And now the enemy, sadly, is being axed/rewritten in favor of a more unique design. There are many aspects of this design I like, but I feel like the drawing itself should have foreshortening and perspective, and I've had some ideas for a different design for this guy. Really, the boss fight used to have the screen scroll up... I could make it feel bigger with some perspective tricks and not make it even need to scroll.
I've definitely learned a lot since I first started on this project.
TL;DR: an oldie but a goodie |
There is a lot of dithering, but it looks good and fits right in. This piece also works well as an example for those who want to learn about shading metallic luster with contrast, myself included.
