You could try just making the background fade into the sky color like this: http://imgur.com/AxJ2mQg
Ok I'll try to fix it follow your suggest, when i use this BG in game I also feel like I force too much detail into single screen maybe start with decrease colour might help.
Thanks for taking the time to make that for me! It looks really good. It's a shame that you'll probably need to lose some of that colour and detail to make the game read well. Perhaps you can use this version as part of a title screen or a cutscene without gameplay :[
It's not necessarily saturation that you need to tweak, it's the contrast, and possibly the hues, as well as removing some of the details. This would probably need to be more than just a palette change ):
Thank you very much for your suggestion, I also relize the issue on background color, and try to fix it many time color selection is away my problem I also try to adjust saturation many time in order to make gameplay area more stand out sadly this's the best colour range I come up but I'll try to find the way to improve it.
background in this screen shot has 3 layer sky , hill , tree/bush
[here is full background] ; combine sky+hill layer

I really like that background and would love to see it as a standalone piece!
Because the colours of the background and the orange metal bits have as much contrast and intensity as the foreground, it's hard to read the scene, the characters and other foreground elements get lost. The elements important to the gameplay need to stand out from everything else, so that players can easily react to things happening and see what they need to do and where they need to go.
Ah ok thank you.
