heh i see the tiny pixel appear to :p
anyway good work I like this peice
I'm having some issues with the animation right now. But I'll start with the art first. I think the dithering of the cheek shouldn't be needed in this style, considering the piece is done in a completely different way of shading with the large bulky style of colors. I'm guessing the dithering was meant to represent a five-o-clock shadow, but it really isn't working for me to be honest. I think a simple shade of the color, like the rest of the pic, would be better, IMHO. Also the upper lip is a little off. I think that you forgot to add the crease in the upper lip that leads to the bridge of the nostrils.
As for the animation, it seems like you really didn't try to "animate" much, but moreover, you tried to just move certain pieces around his face with the select tool, to create the illusion. This is noticable, however, do to the fact that when a part of the face is moving, linear shapes tend to rise and lower, almost as if, it was done in a flash program( although I know that is not the case here). Other proof of moving parts of the work around, instead of redrawing them, is evident in the teeth. In one of the frames, his teeth seem to wiggle in place. Also, you seem to have forgotten about cleaning up a little spec that keeps re-ocurring on his right shoulder, and when he blinks, a spot of color presents itself right beside the crease of the cheek.
Well than...I'm starting to sound like a pretensious asshole...Oh well, I've just seen some of your work at pixelopolis, and I know you can do much better. By the way, the style of this is prettly well done. I don't know exactly what it's called, but its great...great job guy...
