Good first job! The amount of colors for a small piece is always something to keep an eye on. Keeping the count down can help you to strategically place your pixels when it comes time to polish the piece up. Also the (water droplet?) is a little messy. It's always a great idea to look at reference pictures! They only make us better! Remember: It's only cheating if you trace.
If you keep in mind the fundamentals of art like how light effects how color is viewed and that form should be a large concern, you'll never go wrong. Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see more.
Thanks, DexRunner. Okay, keeping colors for small pieces is a key, I'll keep that in mind and I now know that 37 is a lot. haha. If you look at this piece you may notice that what I've done here is take the silhouette of Pixel Joint's logo and repixel it to make an avatar. I thought it was an interesting concept, so I tried it. So, as for the water droplet, I couldn't think of anything to take the place of that glasses "earpiece", but the water droplet does at least repixel the last bend in the glasses frame. I hope that makes sense. I figured I could change it later and perhaps change the water droplet to fit different occasions and holidays, like a snowflake for Christmas and wintertime, stuff like that.
