By coloured outlines I meant outlines that are multi-coloured, and correlate to the colour of whatever's inside of the outlines, not a single colour (though black could work too, with this sort of style). So, it's not about "what colour fits", it's about what colours communicate both the form and colours of the objects you're outlining while still separating them from the background.
For what it's worth, the really problematic areas are the ones that involve your light colours and midtones, since those are the ones that fade into the background and distort the apparent/intended shape of the guns, so it's really just those that I think need outlines.
Yet another option would be to change the background colour so that all the colours read well against it (or make it transparent so no one can complain xP). That's not acceptable for game sprites, but just for one-off sprites, it doesn't hurt since there are no other contexts for them.
I see...i was thinking about colored outlines...i wonder what color fit.
Well lets find out!
Nah its just weird how sometimes things get through fast and sometimes need a week or so. Making me itchy that i diud something wrong (because that happens often with me)
You could perhaps make this work without any outlines at all. Maybe not against this background, but it might be doable. Alternatively, try using coloured outlines. That way you can have details in your lineart, but still have a feeling of containment and a clear separation between the gun and the background.
It's normal for pieces to be in the queue for a few days, and you only submitted this yesterday. If anything, I think the non-transparent background might be a bigger factor in any no-votes this might be getting.
Thats exactly what i wanted ^^
Maybe it sounds weird but i always felt restricted by fat outlines that make my details too big or change the shape i wanted...
Altho i think it works better with the ,,simple Guns'' i made because the shapes where bigger and the lines had a clear pupose but i still think they look good on most of the guns here (they look exactly how i wanted them to be and look pretty good in-game so i am not complaining...)
I try make the shape clearer next time so that the lines have a more vieable purpose then here...
PS: You said that it looked unfinished...is that why it isnt pushed through yet?
The guns look cool, but I think the broken outlines are hurting the readability and making things look a bit unfinished and noisy.
I see...
interesting thought of making the outlines spezificly contrasting the color wich is closest...
Also i need to go to photshop to make a transparent background...its just to tiresome to put it on dropbox and searching my school-laptop and such (a update in Graphicsgale broke the transperency feature...or i am just unlucky)
