So usually when I draw characters, I Iike to draw things with lots of detail. The style for these larger sprites that I make are inspired be a game called Under Night In-Birth, but only in shading details (no editing or frankensteining), so these don't quite match up to the sprites seen in that game. The sword is actually a seperate sprite, but I thought that having the whole package deal looked better.

I'm all about seperated colors, so that's why you'll notice the large amount of them. I went into these big sprites with the idea that there would be alternate color palettes, like those you would see in a fighting game (Not that I'm making a fighting game, I just like having alternative colors). I know the sword doesn't really match the tyle of the character, but trust me when I say that's what I was going for.

I'm actually pretty hopeful for criticism since these big sprites weren't sketched out beforehand, and I'm sure there are things I didn't notice. I just had a design pop up in my head, then I just placed the pixels where I thought they should go. Expect more of these bigger sprites in the future.

Edit: So I did some changes based on some suggestions, I also changed her hair to match up a bit with my more recent stuff.

Hey thanks a lot, I was thinking of doing versions of these larger sprites with smaller color palettes, but I usually just use lots of colors for the bigger stuff so I can edit colors easier, and then do smaller palettes for storyboarding, spritesheets, etc. Thanks for pointing out the calves, I think you actually might've helped me figure out a way to fix her legs. Also I'm glad you got reminded of the Monado, that's sorta what I was going for!

I love the vibrant colors, a lot of pixel art I see nowadays has great line art, but a washed-out palette that doesn’t leave a statement. You do use a lot of similar colors, I would consider using a smaller palette, but that’s just preference. Other than nitpicking over the thigh-to-calf ratio, you might want to rotate the left hand outward, though that’s a minor detail.

I especially like the sword design, it reminds me a bit of the Monado from Xenoblade chronicles.

I’ve never played Under Night In-Birth, but I used to love the Melty Blood series.

Congrats, great work!

Interesting edit, I was thinking of an edit with the same intent to make the legs not as long. I still kind of want her sprite to be the same height though, so maybe making the torso a little longer might help as well. The jacket around her waist would be lowered as well, I think that might be throwing things off a bit too.

Legs seem a little too long, even by anime standards.

If i may make a suggestion: imgur.com/a/yyRmK
