About the spirals B-tater mentioned, you could definitely do something about them: you could AA them. Use a colour in between the skin colour and the red. Some other parts could use AA as well, like the nose and mouth for example. I don't like how your shadows tend to stick around the edges of the piece exclusively, at least on the face and headband. Basically you could use shadows more liberally to give the things better definition. I think the lines under the eyes should get some more emphasis.

All in all, I like this, but in technical aspects it needs a little bit of work still.

looking good ill mak some crits (though i dont have solutions to some)  ok first the red spirals on his face look really jagged i know theres not much but im sure you could clean them up. also theres colors that i personally dont even notice on the piece untill zoomed in so i see no point in them  i.e. the lighest blue on the head band theres like 5 dots of it or sumtin. but other than that its looking good keep it up. ...o ya also try some diffrent "smirks" or how ever you want to call it (the mouth)
