I certainly see the other commenter's point but I have to admit I find it very easy to see the face as intended and very hard to see the eyes and mouth as one big "happy mouth."

Or you could bring his mouth in a pixel on each side.    you'd lose a little of the mouth, but you could keep the chibish eyes.  And I quite like the eyebrows. 

The moustache and eyes blend together to form what looks like one huge smile, so the face looks creepy. I'd love the eyes up a pixel. That would mean getting rid of the eyebrows, but I think those are less important.
