You'll only get out what you put in, my friend. I'm sorry to hear the things that have got you sour. It seemed like you were improving, but I do understand the feeling of no help. Even critique can be painful at times when folks are being brutally honest. In the words of Obi-Wan, "You must do what you feel is right, of course...". But just remember that art is about emoting the things you love, not about being better than anyone. Pixel art is TOUGH. There are certain criteria that makes a piece specifically 'Pixel' art. Almost any other media a person can look at a few Pinterest tutorials and look like they've been doing it for years. Pixels are different. Sometimes even after years you feel the need for great improvement. Ask anyone that is at level 11 and they'll tell you the reason they got there is because they practiced, failed, got back up, practiced some more and repeated that over and over. Users like Fool and Mandrill have some natural talent, but they still had to spend a lot of time to get better. Spending time is LITERALLY a requirement to level up. It's no joke!
I know I'm harping on the level thing, but I just don't want you to leave when it's more than likely a mistake. Failure and disappointment are a part of success. I still get discouraged when my art doesn't "show". But I still love my art. If you really love yours with the right motive in mind, you'll realize that to be successful, you'll need as much help to improve as possible, even when it's sparse. Sometimes you need to reach out to get the help. There's a private message option on your user page. Why not try it out when the forums are going slow (I know, they are slooooooow). See someone experienced at a high level or even someone that has some art that you love and would like to emulate parts of their style? P.M. them! They'll more than likely be surprised that you sought them out, but they'll probably be happy to help. It's a good way to improve AND involve yourself in the community. To make a friend sometimes you gotta be one.
So please don't give up, bro. You are improving. I can see it in your recent art. I have to apologise that I didn't get over to help you with the sword animation in the forums. I've been busy and only had time to pop in and out within the last week. I hope you'll reconsider.
And just so you know, I don't get anything out of getting you to stay... Just peace of mind knowing you didn't give up. You can do it, PixelRazor! I believe in you.
@ Goodlyay
I don't think that's very inviting to someone that's discouraged. Maybe he's being childish in the way he presented himself today, but you're not improving relations either.
@king_bobston
He probably doesn't need that either. You've been around awhile, right? Then how come you missed the point of what's really going on? I thought you might know better.
