This is a quick mockup concept for my side project

Ronin vs Samurai shadow fight

"You're just a farmer. You don't deserve to hold a katana" - said Samurai

"No, my parents were just not rich enough to buy me a title and a armor like yours"

 For duty and humanity!

I don't get quite as offended by people associating pixel art with gaming as I used to.  If I'm being honest, gaming is how I was first exposed to pixel art in the 80s/90s and, frankly, I still love those games.  But I also understand that what's happening in this and other communities surrounding the pixel theme really is more than just an easy medium for making some lightweight games.  It's real live art!  And to tell the truth, it's faaar from easy!  But that's part but if what makes it so fun!  Hardly anything you do in life that's "easy" will also be fulfilling and satisfying in the end.  In that way, pixels are sort of a metaphor for life.    Maybe that's a little too deep.   But it's so wonderful seeing it thrive and seeing others improve in their art (and getting to improve myself with all the resources brought together into one place!  I'm not completely unselfish. ).

Indeed. Everytime our artists post some stunning pixel works on Pixeljoint, I feel like it's something that we would proud about and i'll show my digital/3d artist friends those pieces of good art to show them that how strong our community is, also we have great artists who make great and beautiful art-work too. Because in my country people seem to underestimate pixel art compare to those fancy 2-3D games, that's why I and my team have to try our best to bring the heat to these people. I know somewhere out there still have many many great artists waited to be awake, and luckily how artists like you are helping and being our motivation to step on and joint the show

For a greater community!

Your English is good, my friend!  I just hope the things I say are helpful and encouraging because I know how it can be difficult.  Sometimes an encouraging word can be all that's needed to push someone to up their skill level.  It's hard to get out of your comfort zone, but it's not too difficult to make a small effort to show someone that this side of the road can be just as comfortable as the side they're on.  I know we're trying to get better and be good artists so when others improve, I feel like it only makes the rest of us better.  Art should never be a competition and I hope that attitude can stave off that "me first" attitude that lots of people have.  All I ask is that you pass it on.

I love your perspective!  I do think the biggest issue is the jagged look.  It's really not that bad, but because of the low contrast between the two colors highlighting the bottom of the sword, it does look like banding a little.  Zoomed in I can see that it's not, but if this was a game I don't think such a thing would really be an issue animated.  You put a lot of hard work and time in this I can tell.  Great work!  Keep up the super pixels!

The incomplete lines on the two silhouettes don't really work, I think. They look pretty jaggy.
