Super late replies incoming:
Yeah, well the legs/pose is a little off but I just wanted to try something different with the pose, I suppose. Old one seemed a bit too safe and boring ;) I was meaning to try some fixes but didn't have time sadly. Other than that tho I have a hard time seing how you would think the old one is better.. but each to their own I suppose haha.
There is something so late 80s/early 90s about this; he reminds me of Golden Axe or the Hero Quest board game. I'm jealous that you managed to pull of the muscle striation effect in his pecs that I couldn't achieve in my Skeletor pic! I ended up giving up and going for a smooth look.
I'm know I'm not that skilled or knowledgeable yet, but as ParkerBabyDiaperCompany said, I think something is off about the quadriceps of his right (our left) leg. I could be wrong, but I think the 'teardrop' head of the quad is too low. It's only slightly lower than the other head, and both heads surround the knee cap, like this.
I much prefer the old one. The new one's pose is worse, and his right leg looks severely malformed.
Thanks alot, golden axe used to be one of my favourite game series as a kid, so this is definitely inspired by it!
Really good shading and colors!
Has some Golden Axe vibe to it.

Thanks, those were exactly my inspirations for both the old one and the new, happy to hear those come through :D Yeah I usually go for the smooth look with my pixel pecs too but I somehow managed to make the muscle striation work on this, which is cool haha. Yeah, thanks also for the tips on how to fix the legs, unfortunately I didn't have time to work on this any more; got some good tips on deviantart too...
But yeah thanks again, and sorry for the late reply :P
